25 random things about me… that’s all you need know!
1. I hate the smell of Lavender, it makes me feel itchy. I don’t mind Lilacs as much because they used to grow behind my house. Sam says Lilacs smell like death though…
2. Once my friend Shantelle and I decided to start a fire to warm ourselves up… in a frying pan! We used paper and stuff, it was pretty hilarious. We also used to: snort pixie sticks, walk in snowstorms to get hot cocoa and ice cream, pretend we were manatees, listen to ACDC, watch “mature” anime movies, and make up songs about her oldest brother Nate masturbating. (because it rhymed!)
3. I always had a crush on my friend’s brothers, they know who they are… luckily I outgrew most of them in good time… I actually used to be completely boy crazy!
4. I make my own sushi at home because I am addicted, and cheap! I use wasabi and soy sauce like they are going out of style!
5. My best friend when I was little had the same name as me. She was Amanda “Mandy” Mae and I was Mandy Michelle because everyone around there called me by my first and middle name to cease confusion.
6. I fucking miss making videos with Emily at all hours of the day and night!
7. I got seriously bummed when I heard they stopped making Polaroid film. Partly because I own like 7+ old-school Polaroid cameras. I love photography and want to have my own dark room!
8. The first cd I ever bought was Aqua’s Aquarium (I know) but the first cd I was ever given was Nirvana’s Nevermind, my mom gave it to me and it blew my mind. One time I heard Nirvana on the radio and she made a remark about Kurt killing himself.
9. I know I’m lame. I still enjoy watching nostalgic gems like Sailor Moon and Little House on the Prairie. I also make fanvids. *SCREAM*
10. I have a kick-ass Goosebumps book collection. I read them religiously as a kid. I used to arrange and count the books on my bookshelf. To this day I love the smell of a good book J which is probably why I work in a library!
11. My television guilty pleasures are: Top Chef, Good Eats, Iron Chef, and Unwrapped. When I’m not watching anything related to food I’m creating crazy concoctions in my kitchen.
12. I once kissed one of my best friends (I won’t give away his name) and though we both liked each other in the past nothing happened and we remained friends. I tend to date either long-term friends or strangers I just met. I have had issues in both instances… but I wouldn’t change any of my relationships, I’m still on good terms with all of them.
13. This is my favorite number though I’m unusually superstitious. I also like black cats, but I don’t pick up unlucky pennies or forget to throw salt over my shoulder…
14. I only remember meeting my “real” dad one time when my little brother got his teeth knocked out by a teeter-totter. My dad’s other kid was the one who knocked it out. I remember my dad talking to my mom while I was playing on a swing set with possible half brothers and sisters. I overheard him saying “She got big” and my mom reply “that’s what nine years does to a person!” Later, I went to their trailer to watch “Richie Rich” but never was able to sneak a peak at my big half-sister Misty, of whom I have several baby pictures of and don’t remember meeting. Since we grew up in the same town I always wondered if I had seen her anywhere, especially when people told me they had met a girl that looked just like me.
15. My writing idols include but are not limited to: Hunter S. Thompson, Anthony Bourdain, T.S. Eliot, Kurt Cobain, Dante Alighieri, Anthony Burgess, J.K. Rowling, John Keats, Daniel Clowes, Mary Shelley, William Wantling, Seth Rogan, Paul Feig, Judd Apatow, Johnny Depp and Edgar Allan Poe.
16. My middle name is Michelle, it is also my Aunt Mary (Shellie’s) middle name. My mum’s second choice for my name was “Christina Ann” and I have to say… I like my name better, thanks mum!
17. My favorite actress is Kate Winslit. I have an unhealthy obsession with her. I think my favorite film of her’s is Quills or Heavenly Creatures, two films Sam and I watched in high school! Viddy well, corruptible teenagers!
18. I think I wear best friends out easily… but I fucking cherish them forever.
19. I can waste hours and days making short videos. It is kind of pathetic. I also make videos of my pet. I have 93 videos on Youtube currently, a mixture of poetry, short films, music videos and miscellaneous crap… my username is, what else, blastedgoat, which is what I have used for everything online since about age 13. I also have 40 subscribers and 2,418 channel views on Youtube since July 3rd 2006! UPDATE: 138 uploads, 112 subscribers, 6,807 channel views, 278,496 total upload views (as of 3/23/2011)
20. I once almost got in a fist fight with a gay man… who stole my boyfriend.
21. My first kiss was from a gay man when I was 16… not the same one!
22. I love being able to say I slept with someone in a band. It was always kind of a dream of mine. Now my dream is to be in my own band :D
23. I’m an Aries. I was born on 4/12 at 4:21 AM. I’m turning 25 this year, hence, 25 facts! Oh, and I’m not doing this again next year, dammit!
24. I have waaaay too many bad songs from the 90’s on my computer. I will be sure to make a list of the most embarrassing ones.
25. My favorite band ever is the White Stripes, period. I would do anything to see them in concert, anything… and yes, I would make love to Jack White, I don’t care who thinks I am strange for saying so! I have had this obsession since high school, the first video and song I ever saw/heard was “Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground” which is still my absolute favorite!
